Overview
Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol, developed in partnership with Goodtaste Training and Education, offers strategies for all levels of the liquor service industry to minimise the harm associated with the misuse and abuse of alcohol by any person.
If you work or seek employment in a licensed premises in Victoria, you must complete a face to face RSA workshop. Go to www.goodtaste.com.au to book and pay online for face to face workshops in our Carlton Training Centre.
Under the Responsible Service of Alcohol training scheme, supported by the relevant state liquor licensing authorities, it is recommended that all licensees, liquor serving staff, and security employees be trained in relation to the responsible service of alcohol in premises where alcohol is sold.
Objectives
This course will provide you with essential skills and knowledge in the following areas:
• Identify customers to whom service may be refused;
• Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages responsibly;
• Assist Customers to drink within appropriate limits;
• Assist alcohol affected people.
Comments
This unit is aligned with a national competency and can lead to the award of a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment provided by Goodtaste Training and Education (www.goodtaste.com.au).
Apart from Victoria, where you must complete face to face training; in some states, this course can also lead to a relevant Liquor Licensing Certificate, please refer to your relevant state liquor licensing authorities for more information (requirements vary across states).
Schedule
In this program you are required to complete:
• The online training course
• Formal assessment
The Statement of Attainment can build towards the following national qualifications SIT20207 – Certificate II in Hospitality, SIT30707 – Certificate III in Hospitality, SIT40307 – Certificate IV in Hospitality, SIT50307 - Diploma of Hospitality and other potential qualifications. The formal assessment is competency based. This means that, in addition to completing the online unit, you will be required to complete an online assessment unit that will be submitted online directly to an authorised assessor at The Good Taste Company.
