This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to develop a financial plan to support business viability. Specific legal requirements apply to the management of a small business.
This unit is suitable for individuals who operate a small business, or a department in a larger organisation.

On completion it is expected that you will be able to:
• Identify costs, calculate prices, and prepare profit statement • Develop a financial plan • Acquire finance
Assessment:
All assessments are conducted online and you will receive feedback from your assessor within 48 hours (except when there is a Public Holiday). Holistic or major assessments may take up to seven days. Assessments may include multiple choice and/or short answer questionnaires, portfolios, case studies, and in some cases video and/or workplace based evidence may also be required. How long does this short course take?
Choosing to study online allows you to study at a pace that suits your lifestyle.
The total nominal hours for this course are 10 – 20 hours. This should include completing both the online training module and the associated formal assessment component.

How to gain your qualification faster! Recognition of Prior learning (RPL) is “the acknowledgement of the skills and knowledge” that you have gained through previous studies, work and life experiences. If RPL is granted, this will mean that you will not have to complete the study or assessments for a unit or units of competency. Please read the student handbook for more information.
