Overview
Did you know that over 575,000 Australians are affected by blindness or vision impairment and that 80% of these are caused by five common eye conditions?
The good news is that almost 75% is preventable or treatable. Saving your client’s sight could be as easy as encouraging them to have regular eye tests.
This program, developed in partnership with Vision 2020 Australia, aims to provide health professionals with an understanding of the anatomy and function of the eye, the five main eye conditions and an introduction to eye health and vision care.
Health professionals will use the knowledge gained through this education session to provide a duty of care to all clients as needed in relation to eye care.
Objectives
On completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of:
1. The anatomy and physiology of the eye;
2. The five common eye conditions in Australia;
3. What you can do to help your client;
4. Eye health and ongoing vision care.
