Trade Practices and Consumer Protection (NZ)
There are statutes in New Zealand that help to create an environment of certainty by preventing any business, large or small, from gaining an unfair advantage over its competitors through misleading or anti-competitive behaviour.
The Commerce Act 1986 (Commerce Act), Fair Trading Act 1986 (FTA) and Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) are three key pieces of legislation that deal with the intricate relationships between competitors, retailers and customers.
Targeted at managers and supervisors, this course aims to build a general awareness of your obligations under the FTA and CGA. Using everyday language, leading cases, and real-world examples, this program has been written in partnership with Simpson & Grierson, a leading legal firm in New Zealand.
